Who Are We?

‘The White Orchid Ball’ is the initiative of a committee of Gold Coast locals who have all been touched by Cancer. Most recently, after a long, brave battle with secondary cancer, we lost a very special lady. She was a lively, courageous and driven woman, whom herself had joined the fight against cancer with her involvement in organising one of the longest running Gold Coast Balls that solely benefited Queenslander’s affected by cancer.

Her favourite flower was the white orchid and for us, is now a symbol of remembrance. The ‘White Orchid Ball’ was formed to commemorate her passion for life and her dedication to helping others who also suffered from cancer.

The ‘White Orchid Ball’ is a tribute to her, and others like her, who have all shown incredible strength and inspired many.

Why the ‘White Orchid Ball’?

The ‘White Orchid Ball’ is for anyone who wants to contribute and join the fight against cancer! Our aim is to raise vital funds for Cancer Council Queensland, who rely greatly on community efforts. Bettering medicines and furthering research will not only assist in finding a cure, but they will also help those already suffering from this dreadful disease. With your help, we aim to raise as much funding to help our community and hopefully change the lives of cancer sufferers.
